Job Description SummaryResponsible for the performance of cash and accrual management functions, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting. Use established Accounting principles to work under limited supervision and to provide assistance to the management of the team with daily operationsACCOUNTABILITIES:May be responsible for one or more of the following:Perform regular and recurring accounting functions requiring professional competencyGenerate, review, analyze, and communicate financial data that reflects actual financial performance against approved budgetsAnalyze and/or assist with analysis of accounting transactionsAudit items in order to calculate costsPrepare general ledger journal entries and analysis of accountsPrioritize and maintain organization of a high volume work load; may also monitor and evaluate workload of othersRecord cash-related transactions and monitor daily bank balancesPrepare bank reconciliations (checking, money market, and security deposit accounts)Review invoices to ensure proper recording of accounts payable and accounts receivableCreate and distribute accurate internal and external reportsCreate and maintain computer-based account filesPrepare tenant, CAM, special reports, or other property management items, as requiredProcess and pay the funds received on brokerage dealsTrack and manage all aspects of broker accounts; address questions and inquiriesPrepare and process revenue and expense accrualsEnsure books and financials are in accordance with all required accounting standardsApply the financial policies and procedures of the company and bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of managementManage and provide support and guidance to othersEffectively communicate and respond to internal and external accounting questionsPerform special projects as assignedMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor Degree1+ years relevant accounting experience preferredOr any similar combination of education and experiencePrior experience with accounting or database software packagesBasic knowledge of commercial real estate preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to use a 10 Key computer boardEffective and efficient time management skillsDetail oriented and thoroughProven record of providing excellent internal and external customer serviceExcellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and team approach to workExcellent oral and written communication skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSInvolves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer for up to 8 hours a dayRegularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and typeAbility to speak clearly so others can understand youAbility to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writingAbility to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understandRegularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displaysOTHER DUTIESThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
