Formulatrix, a leading provider of protein crystallography and liquid handling solutions, seeks a support engineer to join our world-class team at our headquarters in Bedford, MA. You should enjoy working with people and take pride in fixing customer issues. The best person for this position enjoys troubleshooting and fixing complicated problems, and is generally PC/technology savvy.
You will troubleshoot high-end biotech automation equipment focusing on our liquid handler product lines. Our products are used for drug research and assay development. You will report to the our North American Service Manager, work alongside a team of dedicated colleagues and provide feedback to product managers and the engineering team(s).
Customer support from the office via phone, email or remote access tools such as TeamViewer.
Performing depot repairs of both customer and demo instruments.
Some field installations and repairs (involving overnight travel) of lab equipment potentially anywhere in North America, but mostly in the Northeast region.
Recording customer interactions and issues in our internal CRM database.
Provide detailed notes of on-site support work.
Following up with engineers and product managers to ensure customer issues have been addressed.
Affinity for troubleshooting and fixing things
Comfortable with computers, networking and IT related activities.
Quick learner with strong interpersonal skills
Experience with robotics, software, and microfluidics are a plus
